Profile:
In the course of my career, I’ve produced and recorded CDs that have played coast to coast on over 100 radio markets in the U.S. and that have charted regionally and nationally. I have also been a factory demonstrator for Clavia Instruments (Nord Electro) in Sweden as well as a vocal coach/lyricist and producer for “Special Others” a J-Pop group on the Victor label. As a Jazz clinician, music consultant and performance coach I have appeared on MTV/TV Norge, created audio material for Yamaha Motorcycles, NHK and have appeared on two Jazz and Gospel instructional videos. I am also creator of “The 7 Secrets of Jazz and Soul” music method, which has been used by Jazz, R&B and Gospel students from around the world.
—A collector of Jazz, Funk and Soul music since my early teens I was a Top 500/Vine reviewer at Amazon.com for 10 years. Other adventures of mine have included the operation of “Eddie’s Lounge”, a Jazz bar which I ran and managed in Downtown, Tokyo that attracted musicians from all over Japan as well as national and local media.
I began taking music lessons at the age of 5, attended Settlement Music School, Goddard and Temple University, and received training on the Hammond from Jazz legends Shirley Scott, Big John Patton and countless others. I have also been active in researching and promoting the legacy of my instrument, interviewing legends and helping players initiate sessions around the world.
My Debut CD “Remembering Eddie Jefferson” was co-produced by Blue Note Recording artist Ben Dixon (Grant Green, Lou Donaldson), and also featured James Spaulding and Randy Johnston. THEM THAT SWINGETH was featured as recommended listening on the HMV listening station at stores throughout Japan. All of my CDs have had international distribution.
